- Miyowa launches a new trans-network mobile messaging technology in partnership with Samsung Electronics France -
Paris - Tuesday 15 September 2009 - Miyowa, the leader in end-to-end mobile messaging solutions, announces the launch of a revolutionary technology: the Mobile Messenger Launcher, which allows to trigger mobile instant messaging application whatever the operator network. Samsung, a global leader in the telecommunications industry, is the first to offer this value-added feature to their customers.
So far, mobile messaging solutions were either pre-loaded on operators' portals or downloaded by end-users. With the Mobile Messenger Launcher, the application is pre-installed on the phone menu and automatically recognizes and connects to the right operator network with the relevant data package associated.
How does the Mobile Messenger Launcher work?
It is possible to start the mobile instant messaging application from the mobile phone's menu by clicking the IM menu and then by simply choosing the operator. The application is then installed and can be run immediately!
The first deployment of the mobile messenger launcher has taken place in France where Miyowa has deployed its solution with 100% of operators. The launcher is embedded in the Samsung B3310 and covers the whole French market (including MVNO and licensed brands): Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom, NRJ Mobile, Virgin Mobile and M6 Mobile.
Pascal Lorne, CEO of Miyowa declared: « For the first time, a mobile instant messaging solution is able to address the open market and makes all actors happy: the messaging brands, the operators, our partner Samsung and Miyowa of course, who pioneered this outstanding technology. »
"Delivering innovation and added-value to Samsung mobile end users is at the cornerstone of our strategy", added Jean-Philippe Illarine, Mobile Marketing Director for Samsung Electronics France. "Partnering with Miyowa enables us to offer a unique mobile IM solution that meets the demand of our customers for greater flexibility and ease of use".
